Funerals

I have performed at many funerals over the years. Having lost people close to me i am always empathetic and show compassion towards clients during a very difficult period. I feel honoured to sing beautiful and emotional songs for clients when saying goodbye to their family member or friend.

Having performed at various funerals i understand the running order of a funeral service, and what is expected of me.

For the Funeral Service i learn up to 4 songs. 2 hymns and 2 songs chosen by the client. Once i have learnt these songs i can send a rough demo to the client for their perusal.

Once the client is happy and the tracks have been confirmed i will contact the Church/Crematorium, Funeral Directors, Father/Vicar/Celebrant and provide them with my PAT testing certificates and Liability Insurance. I will also provide full lyrics and timings for each song so they can be added to the order of service if required.

On the day of the funeral i will arrive in good time to soundcheck, and position myself to the side of the church slightly out of view so i am not in the way. During the service i will sit out of view and mute my PA system until i am required to sing. After the service i will not start to pack my equipment away until the final guest has left the building.

For funeral services in a crematorium there isn't a lot of time to setup and check for power points, so i will use my small Bose S1 battery powered PA system (as shown in picture above). I will simply set this up in my car before entering the crematorium, and my soundcheck will take less than a minute to get the volume sorted before the service begins.
